WHY DID YOU GO TO RGR FOR REDESIGNING YOUR STORE?

P.R. I have known RGR for a long time. Many other fellow pastry makers have used RGR for redesigning their stores. So it was an obvious choice for our project.

CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT THE DIFFERENT STEPS OF YOUR PROJECT?

P.R. I met them at the Europain trade fair in 2011. I had no problem seeing eye-to-eye with Alexandre, the salesperson in charge of my project. He knows his job and the requirements of my trade, and I knew he understood me. Not to mention that they lost no time in responding to my request. In the following weeks, we met again at the store, for measurements, discussions, meetings with the interior designer etc. From the time the project was submitted to the local authorities up to liaising with the different trades, they advised and supported me from start to finish.

DO YOU THINK BUSINESS IS INFLUENCED BY STORE DESIGN?

P.R. It is quite clear that customers are very sensitive to store decoration. Footfall increased as soon as our ‘new’ store was opened. Our shop was 15 years old and was totally out of date. We needed to add a personal touch and create an environment we could relate to and which was in line with our creations. The customers love it. It draws attention, brings new customers, and drives business!

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO THOSE WHO WOULD LIKE TO START SUCH A PROJECT?

P.R. Take the time to think through what you want. The most important thing is to be well supported, and to have full trust in the interior designer and the professionals working on the project. RGR is specialised in store design, and that makes a difference. They immediately saw what the store needed, how the work of sales staff could be made easier and how customer flows could be maximised, and were able to offer me high-quality equipment.
